Reflection: Package of Experiences

         When you think this is the end, please remember that the sun rises and the sun sets, caterpillars become cocoons and into butterflies, a tadpole grows into frogs and seeds bloom into flowers.

        As I watch the sunset, I realized that everything comes to an end. Nothing stays permanent. I remembered the days when I first step on the portals of high school. A girl filled with innocence how life works in high school. A clueless girl filled with curiosity. But as years pass by, many things happened. Happiness, struggles in life, friendships-break and many more. It was indeed a scary and happy rollercoaster ride. And now as a 4^th year student, a graduating student, and my heart is filled with excitement and nervousness. Can you believe it? I’m graduating. And for this years, I learn how to value friendship and found my second family. And as the near end is approaching, it breaks my heart. I cant imagine life without them. And in terms of my studies I hope and pray to God that it will be good.

Captain of my Future

 “You can’t stop the future,

You can’t rewind the past,

The only way to learn the secret is to press play.”

       In life there are no such things as time machines, where you can travel back to the past and see the future that awaits you. But there’s this one magical thing that helps us see our future, and that is our dreams; dreams that we've been conceiving of for our whole life.  Cause dreams are my first stepping stone in my tantalizing future.

    As I open my eyes and see the world around me, I realized that time machines can never be true. But dreams can be true with a little work of pixie dust. And that pixie dust is our hard work and faith in God.  In my own perspective in life, I’ve always dreamt and planned what my future might be. Even without time machines, I can always picture out my future. I will be a successful architect, designing for large companies or a successful chemical engineer in a successful company. All of this is planned for my future life. When you dream, the future belongs to you; to those who prepare and plan it for today. And a happy and safe family for my family and a successful career is all that I want. I might get fooled with time machines, but I will never be fooled by God. Cause with God, everything we’ve known impossible can be possible. And if you dream, you need to make this dreams come true. You need to make a move in order to achieve the future you’ve been dreaming of. Cause in life, we just don’t need to sit and watch how life goes on; we need to experience every single bit of life.  Make a move and effort so that your dreams will never stay as dreams only, it is much better if you can make that dreams come true. As a person of this generation, step by step, I’m making my own unique way to achieve my dream future.

       A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. if you don’t think about the future, you cannot have one. And with God’s will, I can be the captain of my own future.

#Change

                Life is indeed unpredictable. Nothing is permanent in this world, only change. As one said, change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. Because the change we are looking for starts with us.

                In our world today, we seek change. A change for the better or yet the worse. But how can we attain the change we are looking for when we keep on finding the change on others. It’s like finding a person in a crowded room, but that person didn’t even go to that room. If we seek change, we must evaluate our self first. Maybe, the change that we are looking for is within us all along. But, why do people change? A very simple question but so hard to answer. Maybe they are tired of being themselves and want to experience a new life. Or maybe they are tired of being so vulnerable that people tend to abuse it.  Simply, they are tired of the people judging and getting in control of their lives. And with that they, we, seek change and the change starts with us. They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

                And as the saying goes, nothing is permanent except change. We are the ones making the changes in our lives; we are the ones capable of. Sometimes if you want to see change for the better, you have to take things into your own hands. 

KANNAWIDAN: Sure, Ilocos Sur!

                Life in a pre-historic city or province is just a blessing for us Ilocano’s. Cause in Ilocos Sur, you’re going to an extreme and never before experience. 

                One of the most awaited festivals in Ilocos Sur is the Kannawidan. As we all know, Ilocos Sur has a rich and unique traditions culture among other provinces. Ilocos Sur is also said to be one of the well preserved province in the country. A unique culture preserved for the next generations to see and feel what it’s like to live in Ilocos Sur.

And as a commemoration for this traditions and cultures, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived on how they will showcase the cultures and traditions of Ilocos Sur into one package, not only for the Ilocano’s but also for the entire tourist, local or foreign. And so they came up with the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival.

                The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is a feast that opens the eyes for every Filipino to se the preserved and stunning cultures, costumes and traditions of the Ilocanos. And this year 2015, the Kannnawidan Ylocos Festival has officially started.

                Last January 30, 2015 was the opening of the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival 2015 held at Quirino Stadium. The opening ritual and other exhibits were presented. And of course the Kannawidan wouldn’t be complete without the trade fair, were the different towns of Ilocos Sur comes together and showcase their OTOP (One Town, One Product). But not only the products that make Ilocos Sur stand out among the rest, but also for the well known personalities. Just like, Diego Silang, Padre Jose Burgos and others. A trip to a picturesque province is a scene worth dreaming of. The Kannawidan Festival is worth being proud of because the talents of every Ilocano are starting their journey to shine.  Their creativity and talented minds of every Ilocano is just astonishing.

                Indeed the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival 2015 is worth seeing for. We can explore and learn more about our province, Ilocos Sur. So as a friendly reminder, put down your gadgets and explore Ilocos Sur and you will surely be complete that you had experience the life in Ilocos Sur. As the battle cry goes, SURE, ILOCOS SUR!

3rd Stepping Stone

      When we are having the time of our lives, we don’t notice the change of time. It was June yesterday as I stepped in the life of being a senior student. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Time flies do fast.

Third Quarter is about to step on the finishing line. 

What have we done for the third quarter?

         Well in terms of my favorite subject, ICT, we were more exposed or enhanced in HTML links, anchor tags, framesets and many more. And we also made our own webpage which I found challenging and fun. But I was satisfied with our project though. And I’m very thankful because I was able to catch-up with my lessons. Why? Because the whole 3^rd quarter was as busy you can imagine of. We didn’t much have some of our classes because of the Investigatory Project held at Alaminos, Pangasinan. Well, with what I see, I am hoping for higher grades. I hope. I wish. I tried. And I learned my wrongs and right. But I thank god and will always thank god in whatever I do in life, for my success and failures in life. I never felt like a failure just because something I tried has failed.  

Chapter 1: Day 1 of 365

“We will open the book. Its pages are still blank. We are going to put words and pictures on them ourselves. The book is called Journey and its 1^st chapter starts this New Year’s Day."

      Every end is a new beginning. Can your hear the countdown? The sound of the different explosives? Or the ticking of the clock as it reaches 12midnight? Everyone is excited for the New Year’s Eve. And that is where the magic starts.

     I have always been excited for New Year’s Eve. New beginnings and a whole lot of new things in life. I noticed that every New Year people would always “New Year, New Me.” So what does it really mean by this? Should we change our physical aspect or not? When they ask me if I am a believer of “New Year, New Me.” And I said, no. Why? Because we do not need to be totally new, we just need to be better. Well how will I make myself better for this year?

1.       I need to be more patient on things.

2.       Learn and discover the reality in this world.

3.       And finding out who really I am.

Chapter 1; Day 1 of 365 has officially started. A fresh start. A new chapter waiting to be written. New challenges, new happiness and sorrow and new questions that need to be asked and answered. And the answers that we need to discover. “And now we welcome the New Year. Full of unexpected things we have never been experience yet.”

#ChristmasIsForever

“Christmas waves a wand over the world, and behold everything is softer and more beautiful.”

I see with my little eyes the world covered with joy as December arrives. The Christmas breeze of that brushes my skin. Music to my ears of people goes caroling. And the joy of sharing gifts to one another. But what is the true essence of Christmas?

I have always thought of Santa Claus, on a sled with his reindeer, up in the sky and down to our chimney and showers gift to everyone. But as I get older, I realize that my wild imagination of Christmas was wrong, totally wrong. I learned that Christmas is not all about how many gifts you received or even Santa Claus. But the true meaning and essence of it is how you give a gift voluntarily, the one with sincere thought that comes from your heart. Love is a very powerful and important ingredient you can share to your love ones, it is the most precious gift you can give to someone or to your family. Love is one of those ingredients in finding the rue essence of Christmas. On the other hand, the presence of family is also an ingredient. As one said, the gift of all gifts around the Christmas tree is the presence of the family wrapped up in each other. And that’s the true essence of Christmas for me.

And the last is the care and respect and forgiveness for our dear Christ and importance to the birth of Jesus Christ.  I also believe in forever. And that forever is Christmas. Christmas for me is forever and not just one day because I know that Jesus Christ is within us every day and forever.                                               
And that’s how I opened my mind and heart in reality in the essence of Christmas.
